We were lucky - our Dad worked for BR and we could travel for free. Gillan at Manchester Apollo , Birmingham Odeon, and Liverpool Empire. It was such a blast seeing that band with Bernie always burning bright. The solo band Marquee gigs (with Lemmy at the bar) - always worth the long trip home. More recently - sharing tweets with yer man. Putting the world to rights. And some. Bernie - big heart and good man. Salut

What a terrible loss. I have seen Bernie many times over the years, last time in Liverpool where there wasn't a great turn out but he gave it everything as usual. After the gig he came over and talked to everyone and got my last pic with him which I'll treasure forever. Thanks for all the great memories Bernie.
